Hurlbut Memorial Community United Methodist Church is a church of God. We know God as our Creator, Jesus as our Redeemer, and God's Spirit as our Sustainer. The Hurlbut family is a family of God striving to live life faithfully as God calls. The local congregation of about 130 meets on Sundays September through June for Church School at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10:45 a.m. and at 5:30 Wednesdays for Midweek Vespers. During July and August, we meet at for communion at 8:30 am Sundays, and we share in the Chautauqua programs and worship at the Chautauqua Amphitheater. Hurlbut is a "church home away from home" for many seasonal Chautauquans and visitors. The church building is located on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution (a summer season cultural center for learning and enrichment) on Chautauqua Lake in western New York. The church was founded to provide an ongoing worship center following the Chautauqua season.
